"We all make slips of the tongue from time to time. This term refers to a slip of the tongue, lapsus linguae, which can also occur in writing, lapsus calami. Since the 19th century, linguists and psychologists have been interested in this phenomenon. In linguistics, a slip of the tongue can be considered a loss of control over speech. Fenoglio analyzes the slip of the tongue as an utterance event caused by a failure to control the utterance. However, it is not solely a matter of expressive performance. (...)"
