Du 22 au 23 mai 2018, le lancement du projet SHUTTLE (SCIENTIFIC High-throughput and Unified Toolkit for Trace analysis by forensic Laboratories in Europe) s’est déroulé au sein du PJGN à Pontoise.
From May 22nd to 23rd 2018, the starting of the SHUTTLE project (SCIENTIFIC High-throughput and Unified Toolkit for Trace Analysis by Forensic Laboratories in Europe) was held by the PJGN at Pontoise.
The IRCGN (leader in this project, with the support of the Ministry of the Interior, where we can also find the Direction of International Cooperation, the National Institute of Scientific Police, the Budget analysis and Consulting Office, CIVIPOL and ARTTIC) welcomed the various partners of the project from the Greek Ministry of Interior, the Portuguese Ministry of Justice, the Israeli Ministry of Public Security, the Netherlands Forensic Institute accompanied by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, and the Lithuanian Center of Judicial Expertise.
Funded on a period of forty-eight months through the Horizon 2020 program, the SHUTTLE project is one the 26 projects belonging to the European Commission's grant program for research and innovation. This project is part of a research and development process, with a view to validating a prototype enable to facilitate the microtraces analysis, especially fibers collected in crime scenes. In fact, the samples exploitation is currently time-consuming due to the complexity of the sampling and analysing process.
The various presentations and interventions during the seminar, has resulted by a definition of the first crucial steps to do, for the project's successful execution, in agreement with European Commission’s specifications. The purpose of the project is to standardize the sampling methods and to homogenize the analysis process.
In the end, it will lead to the creation of a European database, increasing the information exchange and the synergy between different criminal research laboratories to fight against international crime.
